Career. Health. Relationships. Leadership. Personal Growth. Rest. Exercise. Meditation. NO SNOOZING. Time with God.
These are all of the things that are important to me.
As I was listening to the song "All In" by Matthew West, I was thinking about the things that are important to me and how intentional I am about them. Am I really ALL IN?
In order to accomplish the things I want to accomplish in the areas listed above, I need to be intentional. I have to be all in. When I am not, it doesn't get done.
I'll give you an example of this from this morning. My morning routine (something I strive to be "all in" on), I want to spend 60 minutes with God, meditate 10 minutes, and walk 5k steps or more, all before breakfast. Yet, my issue with snoozing is something that keeps me from doing these things without cutting something short. I put myself in a situation that I have to choose what is most important when I snooze. I end up rushing, cutting a little off of each area, and usually abandoning the meditation. Then I start my day with a failure -- NOT keeping the promises I made to MYSELF.
I seem to be able to do something ALL IN if it's for someone else or I have made a commitment to another, but not to myself. That has to change. I need to live with integrity for MY SELF. When I take care of myself, I am better person to those around me.
In the song "All In," it says:
"Welcome home my child, well done."
Not only do I want to live a life that when I stand before God I can stand proud, I want to be ALL IN on my commitment to myself, that I can start my day by saying, "Well done Kelly. You started your day by living to your commitments to YOURSELF!"
I want to be ALL IN.
