Continuing on with my study of the word integrity, and looking up verses with the word integrity in them, this one was the one that stood out for me.
The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out. - Proverbs 10:9
This scripture made me realize how easy it is to get off track...take the crooked path, even if not so intentionally. Isn't it easy to get caught up in the moment? Not think before you act? And next thing you know, you have gone down a path that isn't within your own integrity. You have been led astray by something; money, lust, desire, pride, ego, manipulation, judgement, the list never ends.
For me, the best way to not be led astray is to keep the Holy Spirit close to my heart. When I take time each day to write a letter to God, express my gratitude and study His word, the temptation to go astray is much less.
If you struggle to know how to study the Bible, I have found a love my new Bible concordance. I was introduced to it recently in a podcast by Rick Warren. I would be happy to send you one if it would help you as it has me. It's easy to use. You look up a word, and it tells you in every area in the Bible where that word is mentioned. Just read it, write it out, and think about how that verse applies to you. Not every verse will speak to you, but like today, for me, one will. There are great lessons in the Bible about how to live your life with integrity, hope, love, grace and so much more. Take a few minutes today and dive deeper into the guidance that is so readily available to us in the number-one-selling book in the world.
