Not Proud, But Proud

As I look at these pictures, I am so proud of myself for how far I have come, but am not proud of how long it took me to start to live a healthy lifestyle. Yet, I am also reminded of how our failures can be used to help others, and that we need to FAIL FORWARD, as my mentor John Maxwell says.

It is through our pain and our failures that we find what works and what doesn't work. God never promised us a perfect life, and we all have failures of our own. One of mine has been my addiction to food. I have tried many diets/fads, but just doing the basics (which my doctors have said and I didn't listen), of eating real food (you know...fruits, veggies and proteins LOL), being accountable and walking (yes, just walking), has changed my life.

I am down over 80 pounds over the past three years, but have taken the tougher weight off the last four months through the HEALTHe program (34.7 pounds in this picture).

I am also reminded that the people that can help others the most in life are the people that have failed yet triumphed in the end. The group of encouragers I have had in the HEALTHe program are those people who have helped me, and I am blessed to say that I have been that for almost 20 people since January that have joined in the HEALTHe program and began a life of feeling so much better. Watching their transformation keeps me going in the healthy (not always easy, but worth it) lifestyle.

Everyone has failures and successes in life. We are meant to share those with others. The struggles we walk through are our story. Without those stories, we can't help others. Whether it is addiction, grief, illness, anger, when you work through it, it is your turn to say "Not proud, but proud," and share your victories as an inspiration to others.

Today, I hope I inspire someone to want to be healthy, lead an active life, and in the end, be an inspiration to others. If you want to know more, send me a message. I would love to help you become a healthy, happy, human.
