When you say "yes" to one thing, you are saying "no" to another. Therefore, before you say yes, ask yourself these questions:
Do I need to answer RIGHT NOW? If not, wait 24 hours to respond.
If I say yes, is it in line with the person I want to be?
Does it help me become my future self?
Does it hinder a goal I am looking to achieve, or does it help it?
Am I saying yes just to please someone else, or do I truly want to do it?
Will saying "yes" help me "row my boat faster" towards my goal?
Did you pray about it. Trust your gut, it's your Holy Spirit.
Busy vs. productive. That's the difference. When we don't take time to answer these simple questions before saying yes, we find ourselves saying yes to so many things that we don't ever accomplish anything for ourselves. We make decisions we later regret. It is OK TO SAY NO! Sometimes we must stop, think, say no, and protect our greatest asset - ourselves!
What can you say "no" to today that will help you “row your boat faster?” Remember, when you say “yes” to one thing, you say “no” to another.
